Intellectual Disabilities- intellectual functioning that is characterized as being significantly below average since birth and results in a poor level of social functioning.
Mental Illness- a disease or disordered functioning of that part of the nervous system that controls mental operations and conduct. For example, Schizophrenia.
Pervasive Developmental Disorder- a life-long disorder in which the quality of the person's social interactions, communication skills, and ability to engage in imaginative activities and other cognitive tasks is impaired.
Mood Disorder- a group of disorders that primarily affect emotional tone, such as depression or mania, or both.
Anxiety Disorders- a group of disorders that have increased anxiety as its major symptom. These may include panic disorders, phobic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, or generalized anxiety.
