Mental Challenges
Help us to fight stigmas through educating everyone about the special needs of those with different abilities and challenges. Only through understanding and acceptance can we hope to give out friends and loved ones fulfilling lives.
Intellectual Disabilities- intellectual functioning that is characterized as being significantly below average since birth and results in a poor level of social functioning.

Mental Illness- a disease or disordered functioning of that part of the nervous system that controls mental operations and conduct. For example, Schizophrenia.

Pervasive Developmental Disorder- a life-long disorder in which the quality of the person's social interactions, communication skills, and ability to engage in imaginative activities and other cognitive tasks is impaired.

Mood Disorder- a group of disorders that primarily affect emotional tone, such as depression or mania, or both.

Anxiety Disorders- a group of disorders that have increased anxiety as its major symptom. These may include panic disorders, phobic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, or generalized anxiety.
